Master Class with Colin Dunne

Colin Dunne will lead an introductory class in rhythmical improvisation for traditional Irish step dancers.
The class is suitable for dancers with proficient technique in hard shoe.
Dunne will share his approach to using improvisation to create new rhythmical patterns, and will lead the dancers through a series of exercises to stimulate the creation of their own step material.

For ages 16 and over.Dancers should bring hard shoes.

1pm–2pm: Hip-Hop (Social Dance / Party Dance) with Soul Brother Chi
From the UK, Soul Brother Chi from Sui Generis Crew is a Hip-Hop innovator in Social / Party Dance.

2pm–3pm: B-Boying (Break-dance) with Anton LB Phung 
From UK Break-dance crew SMAC 19 comes Anton LB Phung.

3pm–4pm: Joint Workshop – Krump with Jordan Likiyo / DJ Turntablism with DjDmitrij Dee & Dj B.O.G
From Belgium, Jordan Likiyo (aka Badd Machine) represents the European Krump community and the renowned LikiyoFam.
DjDmitrij Dee is one of Ireland’s very few turntablism artists. Originally from Latvia, he will be teaching the art of DJing and turntablism, supported by DJ B.O.G from Poland.

These workshops are part of a full day programme by the Top 8 Team that culminates in their annual battle at Project Arts Centre at 7pm.

Dancers who wish to compete in the battle must attend the pre-selection heats at Project at 5pm. See for details on heats.



Master Class with Emanuel Gat

Emanuel Gat will lead a choreographic workshop for dancers, allowing them an insight into his creative process and an opportunity to explore new choreographic strategies.Participants will experiment with co-dependence and interrelation, as well as systems of choreographic construction.Suitable for dancers and dance students.

Master Class with Stephanie Cumming

This workshop by Stephanie Cumming of acclaimed Austrian company Liquid Loft will offer an insight into the physical vocabulary and working methods of the company.Starting with a warm-up, the class will explore various aspects of Liquid Loft’s stylised physicality and its intricate connection to voice and sound.

It will also challenge participants to view the body from different perspectives.Suitable for dancers and dance students.
