Open Call: Producing Masterclass
We're delving deeper into developing the skills required to produce dance today in this new Masterclass Series.
Led by Dance Ireland Producer in Residence, Gwen Van Spijk, this programme is designed for dance artists who have the experience of realising at least one public-facing project with funding from the Arts Council and who ideally have attended one of the Producing workshops from the 2020 programme.
Comprising three 2 hour sessions, the Masterclass is an opportunity for artists to work in depth on a production or project they would like to deliver and to formulate a strategy and plan for its realisation.
Each session will address a key aspect of producing and involve a combination of group discussion, guidance from an experienced producer and the sharing and application of relevant worksheets and models. Providing structured and practical input on strategic planning, partnership working and audience development the masterclass will equip artists with knowledge and tools to support the realisation of their ambitions in the medium and longer term.
Participants should be able to attend all 3 sessions and have the capacity to complete tasks between sessions.
The sessions will take place on Mondays from 2 – 4pm:
• 4 October 2021
• 1 November 2021
• 6 December 2021
Places are limited so we are asking artists to send us an expression of interest by 5pm, Friday 24 September using the form here.
