Open Call: Perform at the Mermaid Dance Platform

Open Call - Mermaid Dance Platform - Open to all artists who love dance!

We at Mermaid, are delighted to announce a DANCE OPEN CALL where we are inviting every one of you to think about how to celebrate one of our favourite art forms….DANCE!

Mermaid in partnership with Greystones Studio & Theatre, want to showcase new work, ideas and artists with an evening of movement and dance or any medium as long as it is a true homage to dance!

We want to present an evening of short presentations of work through which we can consider and witness the beauty, diversity and complexity of movement and dance. We want as many artists as possible and a night packed with talent so don’t be shy!
The event will take place on Friday 7 September at 8pm in Mermaid Arts Centre. Tickets for the event will be free of charge.

The deadline for applications is Friday 12 August at 6pm and the selection of artists/works will take place on Thursday 17 August.

This platform invites artists to introduce themselves and their work in a supportive and open environment.  Our aim is to support work of ambition, collaboration and experimentation in a range of cross-disciplinary art forms. Our goal is to hold an evening of dance that is inclusive and welcoming to artists and audiences, new and old, young and old.

Performance fee and rehearsal space will be included in the days leading up to the performance.  This Application/Open Call is open to any arts practice, it can be cross-disciplinary but the chosen work must be related to dance as an art form.  The selection process will favour artists who are based in the Wicklow area but applications from across the country will also be considered.
