Northern School of Contemporary Dance- Summer School 2023

NSCD have an exciting opportunity for students to join their Summer School 2023. 

Dates: Monday 31st July – Friday 4th August (please see below a detailed breakdown/ schedule of the days).
Times: 10am-4pm (option to attend additional session Monday & Wednesday 4pm-4.30pm)
Please arrive 15-20 minutes before sessions start in the morning to register and warm up.

In the mornings each group will get the opportunity to experience technique class with all lead artists/ tutors across the week. Then from 11.45am you will have two afternoon sessions each day to work on developing creative and choreographic skills/ tasks with your lead artist, working towards an informal sharing on the Friday.

(There are currently limited spaces available within Strand 2) Strand 3 – Ages 18+ - Creative Lead Artist Alethia Antonia

Progression Routes Experience:
On Monday and Thursday 4pm-4.30pm there will be an optional class at the end of the day with Matt Slater - Lecturer in Performance (Contemporary) at NSCD. This is an opportunity to get an insight in to training at NSCD and connect with an established lecturer at the conservatoire.
This session is for anyone interested in finding out more about NSCD programmes or courses at pre-vocational, CertHE, BA or MA level. Please select to sign up/ register your attendance via the section in the linked form.

Northern School of Contemporary Dance is located in Chapeltown, Leeds. There is direct bus routes from the center of Leeds to directly outside of the NSCD building and we have a gated car park located at the front of the building for anyone driving here.

We do have a small amount of bursaries to offer for any students who may need financial support.
Once your application has been submitted, it will be assessed, and you will be contacted by Northern School of Contemporary Dance to let you know whether you are eligible for a 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% bursary depending on the criteria met which can be found below.
