Flora Fauna Project presents ROOM
Flora Fauna Project presents ROOM - a virtual platform highlighting inspiring collaborations between artists a communities, primarily through the art and practice of Dance.
ROOM features choreographers Sarah Danke (U.S), Omar Sene (SEN), Yasmeen Godder (ISR), Monica Gillette (GER/U.S) and Charles Moulton (U.S), theatre practitioner Veronica Dyas (IRL) and pro-surfer/scientist/explorer Easkey Britton (IRL).
These seven artists are leaders of extraordinary collaborations. They have used their creativity to build community in isolation among people incarcerated in solitary confinement, community among strangers in an audience, between scientists and people living with Parkinson’s disease, teenagers and artists on the streets of Dalifort. We also give ROOM to a contemporary dance piece that has stood the test of time beginning with 3 performers in 1979 to more than 5,000 community collaborators since, and a surfer whose journey led to the origins of women surfing in Iran and a life practice that has come to include holistic health through the sea and surfing.
ROOM is open between 7 Jan - 28 Feb at www.florafaunaproject.com
