Matt Szczerek [Human Collective] in partnership with Dance Ireland, presents the Dance2Connect (D2C) International Lab.

We are very excited to announce this year's mentor choreographer: Mark "Brui5er" Sheats, originally from Atlanta, Georgia USA currently living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Mark has been one of the most prominent members of a Krump movement for almost 15 years and has now been considered one of its prime leaders and mentors to many within the culture. He has a long track record teaching internationally and has also competed in some of the top events around the globe (winner of EBS 2023, Illest Get off champion 2023). He is a member of Dutch dance collective Amenti currently touring their new piece NOM.NOS. In 2021 he was part of Tanzkomlizen and Cie Art-Track production of “Birth” choreographed by Grichka Caruge. D2C LAB aims to provide a space for the intersection of street and contemporary dance styles to spark ideas and create new performance work. With an emphasis on intergenerational exchange, inclusion and diversity, the D2C International Lab creates opportunities for young artists, from a variety of creative backgrounds, who may not otherwise engage with theatre spaces or professional arts organisations D2C LAB provides a space for street dancers and contemporary dancers to come together and share technical knowledge and approaches to performance.
