Vintage Youth Ensemble  "It's a Feeling"

Sat, Nov 29, dlr Lexicon Studio Theatre

Tickets will be on Eventbrite.ie and info@dancetheatreireland.com

Vintage Youth Dance Ensemble is an open group of 18 individuals aged 60+ who are passionate about dance and performance, who met initially at  Dance Theatre of Ireland's Well-dance for Seniors classes.

They are committed to working together to delve more deeply into dance, the creative processes, to develop their performing skills and to offer inspiring performance for all ages, challenging the limiting perceptions of older persons.

They meet regularly to create and rehearse and have performed at many events over the past 10 years, for example the Opening of the dlr Lexicon, the Annual Sonas APC National Dementia Conferences, at the dlr Age Well Expos, the Active Age Retirement Conferences, as well Theatre and Outdoor performances for Events and Festivals.

They have created and performed an original, collaborative  Full-length dance Theatre piece every year since 2014, including 2 captivating performances of STILL HERE at the dlr Lexicon Studio Theatre, poignantly capturing in dance, music and spoken word the experiences of many seniors throughout the Pandemic. This also became a film. In 2023 they created MOUNTAIN AT MY FEET  and will Premiere a new work in 2024, HEART OF THE MATTER, on November 30th.

With thanks to The Arts Council and  the DLR County Council. For PHOTOS from the performance click here and here.
