Dance Ireland Producer in Residence
In a new and exciting development Dance Ireland is looking to engage a Producer in Residence to provide key supports to independent dance artists in Autumn/Winter 2020.
This is a contract for service position. Working in partnership with Dance Ireland, the Producer in Residence will be responsible for the successful delivery of the project, within agreed parameters and within budget.
An ability to work independently, in partnership and flexibly as part of a small focused team is essential. The Producer will report directly to the Dance Ireland Programme Manager.

Producer in Residence Profile
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated arts manager or producer with an in-depth knowledge of the Irish performing arts scene and a strategic focus, who can confidently contribute their expertise and skills to Dance Ireland’s work with professional artists.
We are seeking proposals that will:
- Devise and deliver three workshops in our Outside the Studio series on planning, rights and contracts; and the Artist as Producer
- Organise an encounter/exchange event for dance producers and dance artists focused on role of producer in developing work
- Provide 1-1 advice sessions for independent artists on planning and development
- Provide an evaluation of activity with a focus on how producing supports could be developed for the dance sector, to inform future activity
Terms & Conditions
This is a contract for services.
Fee: €3000 inclusive of VAT; the budget for delivery is €2,000
Timeline: on a phased basis from August - December 2020
Flexible working schedule; due to the contract and creative nature of the work, we are open to flexible working arrangements.
The Producer will be primarily based off-site, and it is envisaged that the majority of this programme will be delivered online
A mutually agreed schedule and contract will be in force for the duration of the project
Dance Ireland adheres to the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997. All contract workers are subject to Dance Ireland operating policies and procedures, including those relating to Covid-19 protocols for health and safety.
