Audition Announcement - Dancer for “The Curious Bards” Performance
The ensemble The Curious Bards, directed by stage director Éadaoin Fox, presents a project exploring the role of women in 18th-century Irish and Scottish music. This performance brings together eight baroque instrumentalists and a singer, and we are seeking a dancer to share the leading female role with the singer.
Profile sought:
We are looking for a female dancer with dual expertise in Irish traditional dance and contemporary dance, able to integrate and blend these two styles into a project that merges tradition and modernity.
Project Details:
- First work residency (remunerated): December 8–12, 2025, in Vézelay (France).
- Performance schedule: Planned for 2026, primarily in France and Europe.
Audition Requirements:
To apply for the audition, please submit two videos of 2 minutes each:
- A video of Irish traditional dance performed to a reel.
- A video of contemporary dance with music of your choice, featuring your own choreography.
Please send your videos to contact@thecuriousbards.com by April 1st.
We look forward to receiving your submissions and are excited to discover your talent for this exceptional project.
