Pilates is a system of exercises, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture and enhance mental awareness. A challenging, low impact, body & mind method of exercise, focuses on strengthening the core and elongating musculature
This class develops the ‘core musculature’, the muscles of the trunk, to support health alignment and posture. Then, it balances strength and flexibility in the muscles surrounding all of the joints. Short muscles are stretched, and weak muscles are strengthened. Finally, as balance and stability are achieved, the Pilates Method adds more and more challenging exercises to the workout, bringing your whole body to a higher level of strength, flexibility and coordination. Although this class is tailored for dancers, Selma's classes are motivational, friendly and welcoming, She emphasises the contort and development of each individual providing personal corrections and modifications to accommodate everyone’s needs and levels.
