Rocio is the receipient of a Dance Ireland Residency Award.

After having been awarded the Irish Arts Council Bursary Award and the Agility Award 2021, Rocio has devoted time researching what she has called “Steps towards myself” as a springboard for exploration. The idea for the original research started off as an autobiographical journey, but transformed into exploring concepts that go beyond her own life, and that many people can relate to: memory of past traumas, distance, solitude, and empowerment
