As part of our Outside the Studio Programme we have launched our Producing Dance series, led by Dance Ireland's Producer in Residence, Gwen Van Spÿk.

Over three workshops, this series includes some complementary One-to-Ones, and an Artist Producer Exchange. Drawing upon the experience and expertise of Artists, Producers and specialist consultants the programme is an opportunity to share and gather knowledge on some key aspects of a Producer’s role; better understand what the role involves, who Producers are and can be, and the value of Producers in the dance ecology.

These workshops are suitable for Independent Dance Artists producing their own work; Independent Artists working with Producers; and anyone thinking of becoming a Producer or taking their first steps as a Producer.

WORKSHOP 3: CONTRACTS & RIGHTS
Thurs 26 November 2 – 4pm:
A workshop that sets out and explains the key aspects of contracts, intellectual property and copyright with the aim of increasing confidence in reading and signing contracts, negotiating them and issuing them.

  • Understanding the language and terminology
  • The contracting process and the purpose of contracts

  • Things to think about when negotiating
