Matt Szczerek: 50/50 Residency

Matt Szczerek will be in studio, as part of a partnership support residency.

Matt will continue to research and develop a new solo work for young audiences titled Matt & Hat. Working with a variety of interchangeable hats as props that represent the different personas we all inhabit, as well as independent characters (animal, best friend, villain), the autobiographical narrative is driven and transformed by this inanimate object. 

Following a successful residency as a ‘Lead Artist’  in ‘Ready Steady Show’s’ digital commissions for 2021 in Civic, Matt has the opportunity to continue research around the possibilities of VR and digital technology within performance with collaborator Camile Donegan.
