Our Healthier Dancer Days this year invite you to take some time out to tune in to the needs of the dancing body and mind.  The programme is dedicated to the unique and unprecedented challenges for dancers at this time with in depth sessions on yoga for dancers, somatics in action, mindful practice, supplementary training and conditioning, and advocating for your needs. The workshops offer information and techniques to take into your training and practice and support you to navigate the months ahead.

"At home" training for strength and conditioning

In this “at-home” physical training webinar, Khyle will coach you on specific training movements and sequences to support your dance training.

You will look at primary conditioning movements - how to perform them correctly, and how to adapt them to contribute to your overall athletic ability. You will also learn, and attempt, a few different training programmes that you can then take away and integrate in to your weekly dance training.

These training programmes have been devised and developed in response to the current Covid-19 pandemic, and take into consideration limited training space.


Khyle Eccles is a movement, dance, and performance specialist with a varied portfolio career. He is one of very few dance specific strength and conditioning specialists in the UK, and an award winning lecturer.

Khyle received his BA(hons) at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and his MSc Dance Science at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

As a strength and conditioning specialist, Khyle works to provide specific prehabilitation and performance enhancement training strategies to support dancers in training and performance; helping to establish a high athletic capacity to support genre specific technique and reduce physical limitations to creative work.

His research looks into the athletic development and competency of dancers.

As a performer, Khyle has performed internationally with numerous makers and companies; working with STREB Extreme Action, Dance Theatre of Ireland, Upswing Aerial, Generating Company, Luca Silvistrini, Arthur Pita, Liam Steel.

Khyle is also creative collaborator, maker, choreographer, working with Rachel Birch-Lawson to create exciting dance theatre productions, as well as being a rehearsal director in dance theatre and musical theatre genres; working extensively with British Youth Music Theatre.

Khyle teaches across multiple institutions including Trinity Laban, The Urdang Academy, Academy of Dramatic Arts Zagreb, and many more in-between.
