Ronan Brady and Aisling ní Cheallaigh will work on developeing ”Sub Rosa”, a 15 minute duet of partner acrobatics, doubles Cyr wheel and hand to hand with Aisling Ní Cheallaigh.

It examines the idea that we focus on the 'what' we are instead of 'who' we are. Society and media tell us that the more talented we are, the more important we are. We see this in sports stars, actors and celebrity. When we receive positive feedback on 'what' we do, we do more of 'it'. It's then what we present to the world, our 'thing', not ourselves.

So much emphasis is placed on what we do. It's the second question we are asked after our name. It's used as a measure of our worth. Fortunately, self worth and profession/talent aren't linked. You can be unemployed and a great person.

Aisling and Ronan will work with Jonah McGreevy of 'Loosysmokes' focusing on Hand to Hand technique, Joli Vyann on acrobatic

dance and choreography and with Mark Glover on duo Cyr wheel.

The entire piece will be overseen and directed by Thisispopbaby director Jenny Jennings, while musical composer Alma Kelliher will work with us in a similar fashion to How to Square a Circle and compose the music to Sub Rosa to our choreography.
