Dance Ireland Residency: Philip Connaughton

from Mon 1 Sep 2014 - Fri 5 Sep 2014

Philip Connaughton and artists take to the studio in preperation for their forthcoming Tiger Fringe Festival performance of Tardigrade.

This is a kaleidoscopic feast. As soaring voices emerge from towering creatures, lithe and raucous dance erupts against a backdrop of a projected forest. It's Star Wars, cosmology, biology, artificiality, information overload, technology. It’s my dog. It's you looking at my dog. And the slow walker sees it all. Try to understand it or just join in the madness and enjoy the show. Booking now open at

Dance Ireland Residency is a key means of ensuring new dance work is made and dance artists have a chance of maintaining a studio practice. All Dance Ireland professional members, whether working as independents, companies, collectives and/or ad hoc ensembles are eligible to apply for a Dance Ireland Residency.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. As ever we remain sensitive to the needs of dance artists and aim to encourage all Dance Ireland members to avail of a Dance Ireland Residency. At a time of diminishing resources, this is a proactive means of facilitating dance makers.
