Maria’s professional level Ballet class starts at the barre and focuses mainly on alignment, clarity of steps and the use of feet. Barre work is usually 40 minutes long and can include balance/pirouette position exercises ready for the turns later on in class. Centre work will include Adage, Pirouettes and Allegro sections and some combinations will have virtuosity and challenge in them. Maria combines Vaganova, Cuban and the British styles in all her Ballet classes.

Born in Spain, Maria began her dance training at age 5 and graduated from The Royal Ballet Upper School before joining English National Ballet. Promoted to First Artist in 2004, Maria performed all the classical productions and many soloist roles all over the world. She has been teaching dance and choreography to young dancers, professionals and adults since 2008. Maria’s classes are based on a mixture of styles including the Vaganova, Cuban and British schools, focusing on pure alignment and technique at the barre then working on virtuosic turns and challenging allegro exercises in centre work. Maria has achieved many dance awards during her career, currently is the Principal of her own dance school and the Patron of DT Dance in London
