Class will follow the typical structure and principles of classical ballet. Beginning at the barre, bringing the focus inwards whilst also keeping a more global awareness, aligning the body, warming up the muscles and articulations preparing the body to move strongly, fluidly and harmoniously in the centre.
Centre work will place emphasis on the use of ports de bras and co-ordination and also on listening to and dancing the music in order to give more breath and dynamic to the movement. The intention is to offer a class that combines the possibility of learning and improving technique but also of having the opportunity to enjoy the act of dancing.
Born in Dublin, Jane trained with Anne Campbell- Crawford and later at the Russian Ballet Centre. She continued her training and professional formation at the Perm State Academy and at L'Academie De Danse Classique Princess Grace Monte Carlo with Marika Besobrasova. On graduation, she accepted a contract with Ballet Ireland and has spent 15 years performing, coaching, taking part in the company's choreographic platforms and working extensively with the educational team. Since 2009 she has also enjoyed working with Chrysalis Dance Company performing in Ways You Wander, Thought Once Was, Slings and Arrows and These Moments. Other engagements include Elisa in The King and I, Euridice in Orpheus with Operaworks, various works with Opera de Monte Carlo and Shrewlands by Morgann Runacre -Temple for Resolution and Cloud Dance Festival in London.
