Marion’s class combines elements of release technique, floorwork and qigong practices with a focus on moving the body with ease and efficacy while building strength, stamina and technique.

The class will begin with a emphasis on breath, attention and mobilization through the use of qigong exercises, followed by set contemporary movement phrases traveling in and out of the floor, culminating in dynamic and energetic phrases traveling through space.

Marion intends to create an atmosphere of low pressure and high fun and a space to connect in with your body and your dancing peers. The class is designed so you leave the studio feeling grounded in your body and energised for your day ahead.

Dublin-based contemporary dancer and dance maker Marion Cronin studied at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance and has since worked with choreographers and companies including Jean Butler, Laura Murphy, Lucia Kickham, Junk ensemble, Liz Roche, Siobhán Ní Dhuinnín, Theatre Lovett, and more. Alongside her performance career, she most recently choreographed a solo Making a Scene (2023) and a duet Rope (2023). Guided by her experience as a performer and her interest in creating highly physical and cathartic dance work, she is drawn to making art that is grounded in personal experiences and reflects the world around us. Her work has been funded by The Arts Council and Dublin City Council.
