Andrea Pivatto

Class description

Her class practice also draws its formal principles from the natural world, and social structures to offer a unique perspective on the body's articulation in space and time. Fusing the gestures of daily life with formal abstract movement and revealing an innovatory choreographic style; working with contact improvisation to explore the kinaesthetic possibilities of bodies moving through contact, it is a form open to all bodies and enquiring minds.

Originally from Brazil Andrea Pivatto has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from (FMU) and Cultural Management by SENAC. In early stage of her career she trained in Ballet, Capoeira, Modern Dance (Graham technique), and Contemporary Dance, where she developed her career first as a performer then becoming a choreographer, director, mentor and curator in contemporary dance companies in Sao Paulo. As a guest choreographer, teacher and judge she has partaken in numerous dance platforms such as: Ribeirão Preto Dance Festival, Sul in Dance, Jaraguá do Sul Dance Festival , Garopaba in Dance, Porto Alegre in Dance, Mery Rosa Dance Festival , Bento in Dance, Blumenau in Dance, Goiania Dance Festival, Bravos Festival, Valentina Koslova Int’l Ballet Competition ( 2022 ) and in others countries as Argentina, Panama, South Africa, Germany and USA.
