A dynamic, contemporary release technique class aimed for those with experience of moving. Class will begin by incorporating improvisation to mobilise the body and will move towards material designed to encompass the floor and centre. Full bodied, upbeat and fun the class will celebrate the virtuosic and aim to leave you energised and nourished.

As a choreographer new to Ireland, these classes will be an opportunity for us to connect, move, share space grow new relationships. I’m excited to dance with you and for us to offer ways in which we may get to know one another.

Artist Bio

Jack has collaborated internationally as a choreographer and director. As Artistic Director of his independent collective Jack Philp Dance, he has created work which has toured venues and festivals across Europe and the UK, alongside various commissioned creations. As technology transforms the cultural landscape, his work embraces that; intersecting live dance, digital tech and science whilst celebrating human creativity, emotion and expression. Driven by the virtuosic body, his work has scaled stage, screen, and immersive digital experiences with collaborative relationships spanning dance, fashion, sound, science, AI, and immersive technologies. Recent projects include a national UK tour of his latest production ‘Into the Novacene’ alongside an international collaboration centred around immersive technologies with Planetarium Hamburg, Germany. He has also created work with Intoto Dance Company, National Dance Company Wales, Northern School of Contemporary Dance and recently collaborated with the National Ballet of Jersey. An experienced facilitator, Jack joined National Dance Company Wales to lead the company as their interim rehearsal director before becoming their Engagement Artist in 2022. More recently Jack also joined the Clore Leadership programme as one of their emerging leaders and has gone on to lead in a variety of spaces from professional touring companies to youth dance.
