A current form of Jazz that shares movement characteristics with contemporary modern dance techniques. Emphasis is on expression, flexibility, extension, and turns, but is often different in the slower pace, music syncopation, and more internally-motivated movements. Aims to develop, high energy movement combining isolations, strength with energy, speed, stamina, co-ordination, improve breathing, balance, body awareness and control whilst still allowing freedom. You can expect to learn new movements, challenge yourself with a different style and technique, and practice dance routines along with a class choreography.

Biography

 

 

 

 

 

Originally from Brazil, now based in Dublin, Anderson has over 15 years experience in dance theatre in Ireland. He is a versatile and skilled performer, choreographer and teacher of all ages and abilities. Anderson has achieved high-level dance training in Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Musical Jazz, and Modern Dance. Artists and dance companies Anderson has worked with includes: Company Philip Connaughton, Shaun Dunne & Projects Arts Centre, Claire O’Reily, Jess Rowell, Hayley Earlam, THISISPOPBABY & Phillip McMahon, Emma Martin with United Fall, Jessie Thompson, Anna Newell, Helga Deasy, DYDC (Dublin Youth Dance Company), Mariam Ribon, David Bolger, RTE Culture Night Opening, Karla Holden , Fiona Quilligan, Coisceim, DTI / Robert Connor & Loretta Yurick, Eimear Byrne, Emma Meehan.
