About the Class: 

The class is designed with a foundation in contemporary dance and aims to guide actors, singers, and physical theatre performers in exploring more layers of movement through improvisation tasks. No experience is required, as the class also targets people with stage fright and those lacking confidence in presenting or performing in any audience encounter. The class will include a warm-up consisting of body stretches, flexibility and mobility exercises, and vocal warm-ups. Using some Laban techniques, the class will prepare you for solo, duet, trio, and group performances, or to encourage your individual self for better processes.

About the Teacher: 

Originally from Brazil and now based in Dublin, Anderson brings over 15 years of experience in Ireland's dance theatre scene. He is a versatile and accomplished performer, choreographer, and instructor, adept at working with individuals of all ages and skill levels. Anderson has received advanced training in Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Musical Jazz, and Modern Dance, making him a well-rounded and skilled artist in his field.

Artists and dance companies Anderson has worked with includes: Company Philip Connaughton, Liz Roche, Dylan Quinn, Shaun Dunne & Projects Arts Centre, Claire O’Reily, Jess Rowell, Hayley Earlam, THISISPOPBABY & Phillip McMahon, Emma Martin with United Fall, Jessie Thompson, Anna Newell, Tara Brandel, Helga Deasy, DYDC (Dublin Youth Dance Company), Mariam Ribon, David Bolger, RTE Culture Night Opening, Karla Holden , Fiona Quilligan, Coisceim Dance Theatre, DTI.

Anderson is currently pursuing an MFA in Theatre Producing at The Lir Academy for the 2024/2025 academic year.
