Class description:
In alana's class, she focuses on developing the dancer’s skills, artistic sensibility, technique, coordination and appreciation for the performing arts in a nurturing and friendly environment. Alana will utilise her unique training and work experiences directly from pedagogues of the Vaganova Academy and Perm State Ballet School in Russia as well as with French and Belgian Choreographers. Her goal is to create a safe space for dancers to be able to express themselves, learn something new and most importantly to enjoy dancing.
Artist Bio:
Alana is a professional ballet dancer from Dublin. She moved to Russia at age 16 to study ballet in Perm State Choreographic College. In 2019 she accepted an apprenticeship in the corps de ballet with St. Petersburg Classical Ballet. Later that year she was accepted to the State Oepra and Ballet Theatre of the Udmurt Republic in Izhevsk, Russia where she performed in the corps de ballet and corphée in a wide classical repertoire of ballets such as La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, Romeo and Juliet and more. She also performed in Operas such as La Traviata and Aida.
In 2022 alana left Russia and joined Moscow State Ballet on a tour to the UK, Germany and Slovakia performing in Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. She continued touring with Kyiv City Ballet performing in Galas in the UK and later worked with French and Belgian choreographers in Swan Lake with Etoile Ballet of Ukraine in Belgium.
Most recently she performed on tour in France, Finland and Poland performing the famous cygnets and Spanish dance in Swan Lake, waltz soloists in The Nutcracker and Red Riding Hood in The Sleeping Beauty on tour in Ireland.
This year she will join Grand Kyiv Ballet on their tour of the United States of America performing in The Nutcracker and Snow Queen.
