Macushla Dance Club
A dance club for individuals 50+
Macushla Dance Club 50+ provides free access to dance for older men and women. It strives to develop seniors' dance practice, offer links between Macushla Dance Club 50+ dancers and the professional dance community and promotes performance opportunities for its members.
Whether you’ve never danced before, or did ballet as a child and would love to return to class, Macushla Dance Club 50+ is for anyone who wants to give dance a go. No previous experience is required.
Workshops feature elements of different genres of dance and movement including contemporary dance, ballet, waltz, salsa, hip hop, yoga, jazz and much more. Weekly sessions begin seated with a gentle yoga inspired warm up and stretch followed by learning a movement style or exploring a new choreography. Each session is based on a wide repertoire of gentle exercises and movements which will keep you moving and improve flexibility, coordination, stamina and core strength.
Meeting once a week on a termly basis, Macushla Dance Club 50+ is directed by professional dance and multi-disciplinary artists Jade O’Connor, Olwyn Lyons, Jessie Keenan and Mia DiChiaro.
