Rose Barford
Pre-Professional
Rose began training at the Goode School of Dance at the age of three
During her time there, she worked through the RAD Grades and vocational exams. Rose performed in many shows such as 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'The Nutcracker', in which she was cast as Clara. She was a member of the Irish National Ballet for two years, and performed in their production of 'The Nutcracker', and also a showcase of pieces they worked on during lockdown which took place at Shawbrook in Longford. She was awarded Senior Dancer of the Year with INYB in 2021.
Rose has attended summer schools at Tring Park, the RAD, English National Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet school. She recently took part in a 5 day intensive in St Hilda's in Oxford which was led by Deborah Norris. This week focussed on researching the work of female choreographers, and discussing the reasons as to why female choreographers are provided with less opportunities to those of their male counterparts. The students were also given the opportunity to create their own work.
Rose decided to enter into vocational training and successfully auditioned for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Central School of Ballet, Ballet Theatre UK and The Brighton Academy. She decided to accept her place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow where she is now training full-time on their BA Modern Ballet course.
