Roberta Ceginskaite

Roberta has recently graduated from Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg, The Netherlands.
She was born in Lithuania in the year of 1996. At the age of 9, her family emigrated to Monaghan town,There, she began her stage career by joining the local youth theatre group. After secondary school, she moved to Dublin to study Dance Education at Inchicore College of Further Education. This led to her entrance into BA in Contemporary Dance from Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg, The Netherlands. During the 4 year study, she worked with many international choreographers and took part in various workshops in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. WIthin the program, Roberta created her own work alongside various collaborations with fellow colleagues and other artforms. After the completion of the degree, she travelled to partake in workshops in Berlin. She collaborated with young makers in the School of Disobedience ( Budapest/Hungary).
On return to Ireland, Roberta partook in the Step Up Dance Project organised by Dance Limerick, working with choreographer Fearghus Ó’Conchúir. Since then, she was awarded the HATCH mentorship award from Dance Ireland and the Agility Award from the Arts Council. She has started to make new work with the support from residencies at Dance Ireland and Galway Dance Project.
