Katie Murray
Pre-Professional

Katie began ballet at 4 years old at the Anne Maher School of Ballet and danced there for 14 years. Completing her grade examinations and performing every second year with the school Katie’s love for ballet began, and grew. In 2023, she performed as Odette in Swan Lake in her final performance with the school. 

In 2017, Katie successfully auditioned for the Irish National Youth Ballet Company where she was a member for 6 years. She trained with the company under the direction of the late Katherine Lewis, and more recently Lindsay Ashe-Browne. Progressing from the junior company to the senior company, she has had the opportunity to work with various choreographers on many productions, performing many roles…

These include, (lead waltz of the flowers, lead spanish, snow corps and arabian) in Killian O’Callaghans ‘Nutcracker’, (prayer variation and swanhilda pas de deux) in ‘Coppelia’, (the fairy godmother) in ‘Cinderella’, along with other roles in ‘Danse Macabre’, ‘Snow White’, and ‘Prince and the Pauper’. In Katie’s last season with the company (Spring 2023) she performed in ‘An Coill’, and also as a soloist in both ‘Schubert Impromptu’ and ‘Paquita’. 

Katie now attends The School of Ballet Theatre UK on the BA(hons) Ballet Performance course for her vocational training. Since joining,

Katie has developed her training in various disciplines including ballet, contemporary, jazz, and choreography. During her first year with the school she has had the opportunity to perform a neoclassical piece, excerpts from Raymonda and Swan Lake on stage.
