Gearóid Solan
Professional
Gearóid Solan was born in Dublin.
He joined the Irish National Youth Ballet under the late Katherine Lewis in 2009 and trained with Gráinne McArdle in the Celbridge School of Ballet. He joined the Royal Ballet Upper School in 2015, being the first Irish dancer in 28 years to be offered a place.
In 2015 he was a joint winner of the Jim McNaughton/Tilestyle Artists Bursary at the Allianz Business to Arts Awards. In July 2017 Gearóid was thrilled to receive the Ballet Association Award, an award given to outstanding overseas students at the Royal Ballet School. Upon graduation he joined Ballet Zürich in Switzerland. In 2020 he joined Boston Ballet where he is currently dancing.
