Erica Hamm
Professional
I began dancing, music & sport from a young age, and initially picked up dancing in a local stage school. As soon as I began performing in venues such as the Helix & Civic theatre, I realized that I wanted to pursue a professional career in dance. I competed and trained in Irish dance, Hip Hop, & Ballroom & Latin dance, however, after completing my MSc in Cognitive Science in UCD, I decided to take a risk and move to Limerick to pursue dance & athletic training in the IWA. My aim was to explore dance & sport movement outside of a competitive framework & to use my academic background, sport & music training knowledge, to then apply this in my dance practice.
I have been involved in dance for music videos, events & festival performances as a dancer & model with dancers and artists in Dublin, Waterford and Limerick. I have had the opportunity to train with, teach & choreograph for workshops, performances and festivals in Dublin, Limerick & Waterford with industry professionals in Irish dance, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical & Contemporary dance in Ireland.
Outside of dance, I have balanced dance with my time taking part in musicals, teaching dance, classical singing for competition & performance, and with competing in GAA to a high standard where I have had the opportunity to train with Senior level squads, UCD Camogie squads & Dublin Development Squad. I take time to learn more about others from coaching & teaching, along with cross training in swimming, kickboxing, badminton, athletics and any sport I can get my hands on!
