Cara McCrystal

Cara is a Dublin based dancer, who after a year of intensive training in Elephant in a Black Box Junior in Madrid is now studying at 3rd level while continuing to progress her dance training along with her education. She is primarily trained in ballet, contemporary, improvisation and jazz but has in recent years broadened her training to include urban, commercial and fusion styles.She began training with the Goode School of Dance in Dublin at a young age and trained in ballet, pointe and jazz. Alongside  Cara progressed her technique by being an active member of both the Irish National Youth Ballet and Dublin Youth Dance Company where she progressed through the junior and senior divisions.

During her training she was a part of many productions and received opportunities including: ‘Clara’ , ‘Merlaton’ ‘Snowflake’  the Nutcracker( the Goode School of Dance), ‘Winter Fairy’  Cinderella (INYB), ‘Lead girl’ Danse Macabre (INYB), 'Swanhilda's friend’ Coppelia (INYB), ‘DYDC Senior/Junior company’ Irish Youth Dance Festival 2019/22, ‘Dancer’ Oscillation (Adam O’Reilly), 'Opening Sequence dancer’ Shine Your Light (RTE), ‘Dancer’ Holon (EBB), ‘Dancer’ Sala 22 (EBB) among others …
Her involvement in the Dublin dance scene also included participation in the Irish National Youth Festival Resilience Youth Choreography programme in 2020 and 2021. Her dance short film ‘Glory’ was also shown as part of Noise Moves Dance Festival in 2021. She has also been involved in other projects with Crunniú na nog and St Patricks festival.
In April 2022 she successfully auditioned for Elephant in A Black Box Junior Company in Madrid for the 22/23 season and spent the year in Spain progressing her technique and performance in Contemporary, Ballet, Improvisation, Choreography and elements of Urban and cultural dance styles.
Upon her return she is an active participant in UCD Dance Society and their competitive crews.
Aside to her dance education Cara also received a level 4 Personal training QQI and has gained years of experience in Dance Teaching and Fitness.
