Caoimhe Wandel-Brannigan

Caoimhe is a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She is the recipient of a Dance Ireland HATCH award in 2021.

Caoimhe is a dance maker, movement director and teacher from the west of Ireland. Her work sits at the intersection of dance, psychology and technology and her interest in non-traditional theatre spaces has led to the creation of dance work in a variety of contexts, including with professional and non-professional dance artists, for live performance and for film. She is currently undertaking PhD research at Trinity College Dublin, where she explores how emerging technologies such as virtual and augmented reality (XR) are reshaping the choreographic processes, physicality, and audience-performer relationships. Her work has been supported by The Arts Council, Dance Ireland, Galway Dance Project, Mayo County Council and Science Foundation Ireland. In 2022, she was a recipient of the North-West Dance Residency Award, and was a Dance Artist in Residence in Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet. In 2023, she presented a mixed reality work-in-progress as part of the 36Q°+H40 programme at Prague Quadrennial.
