Bernadette has an MA in Somatic Psychology/Dance Movement Therapy, MIACAT, MIAHIP; she is a senior dance movement psychotherapist and somatic psychologist based in the West of Ireland.

Bernadette is a socially engaged dance artist practitioner, whose interests include language, landscape and the body. She's currently tracking the intersectionality of ancestral lands and ancestral intergenerational information through dance and movement.

She has an MA in Somatic Psychology/Dance Movement Therapy, MIACAT, MIAHIP; she is a senior dance movement psychotherapist and somatic psychologist based in the West of Ireland.

Bernadette runs a private practice, BeDamhsa, and works as a dance movement artist. Her practice is based in depth-psychology, somatic studies, an understanding of language and landscape and cultural diversity.

She has received several Arts Bursaries, Residencies and Project Awards from the Arts Council of Ireland for socially engaged practices focused on contemplative dance practices. She has also been supported by Galway City Council, Galway County Council, Dance Ireland, NUIG and the Ministry of Cyprus.

Bernadette engages with an international cohort of peers who have in-depth practices in working with the body across disciplines. She works locally but is tuned in internationally on conversations concerning diversity, migration, health and the body.

She is a psychology graduate from NUI Galway and received her masters in somatic psychology from the Naropa University, USA. She is one of an increasing number of international practitioners advocating for the intelligence of the body as central in politics, governance and working with conflict.

Bernadette recently published BeDance a book reflecting the culmination of her Dance Artist Residency 2020-2021. Copies available throughout public libraries in Ireland.
