Amy Robyn Lyster

Amy is originally from Dublin, Ireland. She trained at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, graduating with a BA (Hons) in Dance in 2015.

Upon graduating, she gained a place in Ireland's graduate programme, Step Up, performing in a new commission by Helene Cathala (FR) on a short national tour.  In 2017, she completed an MA in Performance as part of mapdance, the masters touring company at the University of Chichester. During her time with the company, she performed in new works by Richard Alston (UK), Kevin Finnan (Motionhouse, UK), Abi Mortimer (Lila Dance, UK), Lee Brummer/Israel Aloni (ilDance, SWE) and Liz Aggiss (UK) on a national and international tour. 

Amy is currently based in the UK as a freelance dance artist and youth theatre assistant at the Kings Theatre, Southsea, where she is developing her craft movement directing theatre for young people. Amy has worked with a regional youth company on the National Theatre's Connections project as movement director and assistant director in 2019 and 2020.  She is also a guest tutor in the Theatre department at the University of Chichester. Amy is presently working as a performer with MorvellDance (UK), Company Wessex (UK) and Amy Toner (UK).

She is collaborating with Millie Daniel-Dempsey (IRE) this year on a new work which began development in March 2020 with thanks to the Dance Ireland Residency Award - this is Amy and Millie's first time working collaboratively as dance maker's since training professionally together in the UK.
