Amy started her dance training in Bray Institute of Further Education, where she received her Higher National Diploma.
In BIFE, Amy trained in many styles of dance. These styles were both practical and theory which included ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, and performance art. She then went on to further studies in Bath Spa University, achieving a BA Honours in Contemporary Dance and Choreography.
Amy's passion is teaching students the art of movement. She is the proud owner of Donlon Dance Company which she opened in October 2019. In Donlon Dance Company they value commitment, professionalism, and dedication. The purpose of the company is to teach in a positive and fun environment that provides the opportunity for students with a passion for dance to train in a professional and disciplined setting.
Amy teaches a wide variety of styles as she believe's it is important for her students to show versatility and adaptability, while also encouraging transferable skills such as mindfulness and self-reflection. As a teacher and Choreographer, she is involved with my local Arts Council; having taken part in Culture night, Hullabaloo Children’s Festival and Cruinniu Na nOg. Amy currently teaches in the local secondary school and she has also taught dance classes in a primary school through the Teacher-Artist Partnership Program.
