Aisling McCormick

Aisling McCormick is a dancer, choreographer, singer, music facilitator and educator from Dublin, based in Belfast
After training in Dublin and London, she toured with Elevate Dance Company (UK & Italy). Since returning to Ireland, she has completed a BA Religions & Theology (TCD) and MA in Dance (UL) and PGCE Teaching Qualification (Queens University Belfast).
Her choreography has been performed in Samuel Beckett Theatre (The Insanity of Mary Girard), Project Arts Centre (Unspoken), Smock Alley Theatre (Dream of Eithlinn) and Accidental Theatre (Within: Body + Time).
She currently coordinates and teaches on the education and outreach programmes for Maiden Voyage Dance and teaches contemporary and ballet technique in the South Eastern Regional College Performing Arts Diploma (Bangor, NI).
For four years she directed the intercultural Discovery Gospel Choir (Dublin) on 3 all-Ireland tours, worked with Disney’s Lion King, Sky TV, artists such as Kíla, Gemma Hayes, Brendan Graham, Nina Hynes, Liam O’Maonlaí and in venues such as Olypmia, Vicar St, Button Factory, RDS and Electric Picnic. She developed their intercultural arts programme giving regular workshops in schools, universities and festivals teaching interculturalism through music and dance.
Aisling has also trained with the Laban Guild and continues to teach dance and music to ages 5-75! After 2 years of teaching dance in schools (A Level, GCSE and BTEC Level 3 Dipoma Performing Arts), in 2019 she was awarded Arts Council NI funding to create new dance work.
