Dance Ireland Pop Up Dances with New Moon Dance Company

As part of Dance Ireland’s Pop Up Dance Project, New Moon Dance Company will host a series of workshops in the lead up to Cruinnú na nÓg led by company dancers with young people from the community. New Moon Dance Company is delivering workshops and activity in collaboration  with Green Spaces for Health (Cork Healthy Cities) and:

Foróige group based in Bishopstown, Cork The company will host an outreach workshop with ten to twelve year olds as part of an after-school project programme.

The Migrant Centre The company will connect with young people living in direct provision aged 16 and up. Dance provides an opportunity to welcome and include all nationalities and share and exchange different approaches to dance.

St Mary’s National School, Cobh  This is an opportunity to dance with our senior dancers and share the joy of movement.

New Moon Company will be working with eco social artist Ashleigh Ellis through Green Spaces for Health. Ashleigh will share with the young people of New Moon Dance Company her work on plant dyes and eco art. Their young people will use these skills to create  their costumes for the Pop Up Dance performance at Coal Quay.


This performance will take place at 11am on Saturday 11 June at Coal Quay. No booking is required.

New Moon Dance Company is working in conjunction with Green Spaces in partnership with Cork City Council and Creativity and Change (part of Crawford School of Art).
