Dance Ireland offers New Movements for dance artists to present their work and receive feedback at an early stage of development.
Performance platforms are important for dance artists to present their work to a live audience and receive feedback at all stages of the works’ development.
New Movements is an informal, no tech, studio platform for work in its very early developmental stages - 'fresh from the studio'. New Movements provides a safe space to explore, experiment and gather constructive feedback. To achieve this, we encourage a two-way sharing model:
- Encouraging the artist to express his/her unique artistic fingerprint on a space and an audience and a chance to gather feedback from an audience at an early stage to continue developing the work
- Creating a space for an audience to get an insight into the work and artistic process, and to build interest in seeing the work come to fruition.
These showings typically follow a residency period at DanceHouse, but we also showcase other work developed elsewhere. New Movements showing are accepted on a rolling basis - just get in touch to see what's possible.
