See Dance: Queen of the Meadows by Robyn Byrne
Robyn Byrne presents the premiere of her evocative new dance duet Queen of the Meadows - a powerful exploration inspired by folk medicine, feminism, and the cycles of life and history. This atmospheric work offers a momentary escape, a glimpse into a world beyond our current reality.
Queen of the Meadows was developed with the support of the National Dance Residency Partnership (NDRP) in 2022, and we were delighted to be able to support Robyn through this programme - which provides artists with the time, space, and resources to explore and develop new work.
“NDRP gave me the opportunity to engage in a process of length and scale, which was absolutely needed in order for me to make a rich, engaging and deeply considered piece of work.
So often when making something the time frame and funding can push you towards a model of production before you are ready. The NDRP model allowed me to take risks. I was trying things I had never tried before and it was really refreshing. Through these discoveries I’ve gained a huge amount of confidence in myself as an artist and I will continue to work like this as much as possible going forward.”- Robyn Byrne

Creating Queen of the Meadows - NDRP
The NDRP is a partnership between Dance Ireland, Dance Limerick, Dance Cork Firkin Crane, Galway Dance, and Tipperary Dance to provide a networked support to choreographers in the production of new dance work.
By coming together, the partners acknowledge that our collective infrastructure and resources can go further and encourage more ambition in the dance sector.
