IYDF Annual Symposium

Dublin Youth Dance Company are delighted to announce their first IYDF Symposium, 'The Artist & The Collaborative Practice', kick starting the Irish Youth Dance Festival 2023, funded by the Arts Council and in partnership with Dance Ireland, on Saturday 24th June, 10am -3pm at the Dance House, Foley St., Dublin 1.

The theme of their inaugural symposium will focus on the Dance Artist and consider their artistic processes, conceptual concerns, materials and forms, aesthetic choices, collaborative practice and situate that in the current environment of contemporary dance for the dance artist and the collective. 

DYDC is excited to welcome Deirdre Mulrooney, (writer, curator, historian, film maker, academic and UCD Creative Fellow) to chair the symposium and key speakers from dance and film: Liz Roche (Director, Liz Roche Company), Anna Kenrick (Director YDance Scotland) and Luca Trufarelli (Photographer and Video Maker). 

The day will be structured with introductions and presentations from key speakers including a Q&A.
