About Eadrainn/Between Us
Funded by the Irish Arts Council’s International Residency Initiatives Scheme, Dance Ireland and Dance Base Scotland are delighted to work together to offer six, fully resourced reciprocal residencies for three Ireland-based and three Scotland-based artists as part of a programme of artistic and cultural exchange.
Eadrainn / Between Us is a new programme of creative exchange that will build on the existing relationship between Dance Ireland and Dance Base Scotland to provide an opportunity to connect artists across both organisations and countries, to share practice, and to develop an ecology of exchange and collegial support.

We are delighted to announce this year’s recipients are:
Alan Greig, Aniela Piasecka, Jack Webb, Jessie Thompson, Julie Lockett and Rocio Dominguez.
Each artist will receive residency space at either Dance Ireland or Dance Base in March 2023 and will be supported through space and resources to develop their creative work, connect with the organization, and deepen their understanding of the other country’s dance sector.
The project will then culminate in a dance symposium in Ireland in April 2023 focusing on the continued exploration of artistic and cultural exchange.
About the Artists
Alan Greig
Alan Greig studied in London at the Laban Centre and Central School of Ballet. He was a scholarship student in New York of seminal choreographer Alwin Nikolais.. Organisations Alan has worked for include Scottish Dance Theatre, The British Council, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, The Tron Theatre (Glasgow) and Jin Xing Dance Theatre (China). Alan was Artistic Director of X Factor Dance Company and holds an MA (Distinction) in Dance Theatre Practices.

Aniela Piasecka
Aniela’s practice spans dance for galleries, film, digital technologies, unconventional performance spaces and theatres. Using the notion of psychogeography as a point of departure, works delve into the relationality between bodies and the space/s they occupy.
Aniela is currently working as Choreographer for REIN (an immersive queer erotic film), teaching movement classes, developing a residency with Inverclyde Culture Collective and people living with chronic pain and planning new work with STASIS.

Jack Webb
Jack is an award-winning choreographer, dancer, movement director and teacher based in Edinburgh who has been working internationally for the past 16 years across dance, theatre and opera.
He has danced for numerous companies and choreographers and has presented his choreographic work internationally to audience and critical acclaim.
Jessie Thompson
Jessie Thompson is a Dublin based Dance Artist specializing in Experimental Contemporary and Hip Hop dance.
Jessie works as a professional dancer, choreographer and movement director across live performance and film, as well as teaching and mentoring multidisciplinary artists. She is an emerging maker of Dance in Theatre and has been awarded several times by Arts Council Ireland and Dance Ireland for further artistic development.
Julie Lockett
Julie Lockett is a dance artist who lives and works in Cloughjordan Ecovillage, Co. Tipperary - a response to the climate crisis. She currently dances and creates on the land before synthesising this experience into work which can be performed in a sheltered setting i.e. a theatre. She is making a solo for herself ‘Her-acre’ in collaboration with theatre director Jason Byrne, funded by The Arts Council and Dance Ireland. Image by Just Multimedia
Rocio Dominguez
Rocio is a dance artist based in Dublin. She has worked with choreographers and companies such as Junk Ensemble, Alexandre Iseli, Luke Murphy, Loosysmokes, BrokenCrow Theatre Company, and Joclecio Azevedo. Rocio has been supported through awards and residencies from Arts Council of Ireland, Dublin City Council, Dance Ireland, Shawbrook, Tipperary Dance, Tenerife Lav, and Ensimismados Festival (Costa Rica), and she was Associate Artist for Tipperary Dance in 2022.
