Tipperary Dance Festival 9-15 October 2017

The TDP'17 programme is unleashed! Welcome to the 8th edition of Tipperary Dance Platform's international dance festival, bringing dance from the world to Tipperary.

World-class dance and friendly Irish hospitality in Tipperary is what TDP'17 is about.
This year's edition hosts shows by Oona Doherty (N-IRL), Pierre Pontvianne (FRA), John Scott (IRE), Hélène Cathala (FRA), Chey Jurado (ESP), and Irish-based emerging artists.
A special event this year, TDP’17 welcomes the first Dance & Health symposium curated and coordinated by Dance Ireland.

Highlights of the festival:

  • 9 Oct - Festival launch: opening of the exhibition 'Here and Through' by Luca Truffarelli and Federico Ortica.
  • 10-11 Oct - Dance & Health symposium: two days of symposium and workshops.
  • 10-13 Oct - Performances for schools: Chey Jurado will travel across county Tipperary, performing his piece 'Agua' in public libraries and schools across the county.
  • 12-14 Oct - Master Class programme: three days, eight master classes for dancers, a lineup of renowned international artists, and a unique opportunity to multiply your skills.
  • 14 Oct - classes for children and adults.

The events take place in several venues: Tipperary Excel Arts Centre (Tipperary town), The source Arts Centre (Thurles), Nenagh Arts Centre (Clonmel), South Tipperary Arts Centre (Clonmel), and the public libraries of Nenagh, Thurles and Clonmel.
