Take some time out to reconnect and ground yourself during Healthier Dancer Days at DanceHouse. 

Dance Ireland will host a two day programme of lectures, workshops and information sharing aimed at professionals, teachers and students of all genres of dance and other physical disciplines to educate and inform about Dancer Health; muscularly, nutritionally, mentally and emotionally. 

With national and international contributors and workshop leaders covering a variety of genres through workshops and practical lectures, you will leave a healthier, happier dancer.

Saturday 4 November

We've partnered with Dance World in Ranelagh to offer you a point shoe seminar. Pointers for En Pointe is aimed at those going on pointe for the first time, or those who want to further inform themselves (both students and parents) about building strength and the importance of a correctly fitted shoe. The talk will be given by registered physiotherapist Deirdre McKenna who has was previously Company Physiotherapist for Birmingham Royal Ballet and currently works with dancers from Ballet Ireland.

Tuesday 7 November

10-11.30am               Take ballet or contemporary morning class, use a designated Healthier Dancer studio to do your own warm-up or join us for a morning coffee

12-1.30pm                 Caring for your dancers as a choreographer: a talk with Healthier Dancer Programme Manager with One Dance UK, Erin Sanchez

2.30-5.30pm             Energy in Motion:  advanced holistic training strategies for enhanced power, effort & precision: workshop with Clare Guss-West

Wednesday 8 November

10-11.30am              Take ballet or contemporary morning class, use a designated Healthier Dancer studio to do your own warm-up or join us for a morning coffee

12-1pm                      Yoga class with Cathy Coughlan

2-3pm                       Skeletal Integrity for Increased Flexibility: a workshop with Sharon Vandermerwe

3-4.30pm                  Body Care for Today: Physiotherapist Talk 

4.30-5.30pm             Mindful Movement a workshop with Patricia Bas
