This class is an introduction to contemporary dance, focused on helping you to become more in tune with your body and on enjoying a sense of control in your movement, with the added bonus of it being a fun way to keep fit! Each class begins with a warm up of core exercises and stretching built into a flowing sequence of movement. Techniques and qualities such as weight transfer, core stability, grounding, alignment and balance are all introduced.

The class aims to explore the fundamentals of contemporary dance in a fun and safe way. All that is required is some comfortable clothes and a willingness to try!

Jessie Keenan is a Dublin-based dance artist who's practice incorporates cross discipline and collaborative processes. She holds a Masters Degree in Contemporary Dance. This September Jessie presented Low_lying, a collaborative work combining dance, music and visuals, as part of the Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival. Jessie was recently awarded a Dance Bursary by Arts Council Ireland, and the Tyrone Guthrie award by the Cavan Co. Council.
