This class is suitable for complete Ballet Beginners.
Here students will cover basic ballet principles in a supportive and encouraging environment. Ballet terminology will be explained and demystified. The classes will cover a warm up with stretching and flexibility exercises, barre work, centre practice, allegro (jumps), pirouettes (turns) and some choreographed phrases towards the end of the term. These classes will be fun and will be non-competitive allowing all students to reach their ballet potential in their own time. We aim to inspire you to dance to become a free spirit and to cultivate a community of adult dancers who simply love to dance and who share a love of Ballet.
Ballet class is excellent for improving flexibility, muscle strength and toning the body; it has the advantage of working the entire body in just one class. In particular ballet strengthens abdominal muscles, improves posture and co-ordination. Ballet is a great way to build on self confidence and it can also be an outlet; helping to relieve stress and anxiety.
Rebecca O’Brien Taylor began her Ballet career under the guidance of Mairead Langan of the Metropolitan School of Dance in Dublin. Rebecca continues to work as a Ballet teacher with The Metropolitan School of Dance one of Dublin’s fastest growing and most distinguished ballet schools. She also spent some time abroad and taught in the ballet schools in across Dubai and Australia.
