Performing Opportunities
Dance Ireland acknowledges the importance for professional dance artists to present their work to a live audience. We are committed to developing these opportunities for professional dancers at home and abroad.
Throughout the year we host a range of formal and informal studio showings developed by artists in residence and guest companies under the broad heading New Movements at DanceHouse. Dance Ireland presents Re-Presenting Ireland, a showcase initiative by Culture Ireland, Dance Ireland and Dublin Dance Festival every May as part of the Dublin Dance Festival.
In addition, we work in partnership with Culture Ireland on showcasing Irish choreographers work internationally. For 2010, these include Contemporary Dance Showcase in New York, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Tanzmesse (Düsseldorf).
