Nia is a fun fusion dance fitness class that blends dance with martial arts (such as tae kwan do) and healing arts (such as yoga). Drawing from these different movement forms, in a Nia class, students as a group will follow the instructor to a one hour active routine for fun, fitness and well being. The Nia technique recognises that everybody moves in their own unique style and encourages creativity within the technique. Each routine is set to fun and inspiring music from around the world. Nia is designed for everyone, regardless of experience, age or level of fitness and each movement can be modified to fit your own body's fitness and energy level.
Everyone is welcome! Popular in the United States and elsewhere in Europe, Nia is new to Ireland so you're invited to join and give it a try. Come and kick off your shoes for an hour--Nia is practiced barefoot, though socks or shoes may be worn if need be. Wear comfortable, fun or funky exercise clothes! If you're interested in gaining strength, confidence and coordination while enjoying yourself and feeling great, then you will like Nia.
