DanceHouse
Opened in December 2006, DanceHouse is the result of a joint venture involving Dublin City Council, the Arts Council, McCabe Builders Ltd, with ACCESS funding provided by the Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht, and the Islands. This purpose-built dance rehearsal venue is owned by Dublin City Council and licensed to Dance Ireland which is supported by the Arts Council, Dublin City Council, and has received capital funding from the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism.
Located in the heart of the north-east inner city, DanceHouse was designed by HKR architects and is part of a complex comprising The Lab, Dublin City Council arts offices, apartments and retail units.
Featuring six purpose-built dance rehearsal studios, an artists’ resource room, a tea station/green room area and exhibition spaces, DanceHouse is a working base for dance practice and a hub for the wider dance community. Studios are suitable for a variety of activities including rehearsals, classes, auditions, film and photo shoots, examinations, workshops and meetings.
