Scholarships on offer for dance artists to attend related events.
Dance Ireland offers a number of scholarships throughout the year to encourage attendance and participation from artists at events that are outside their immediate locality.
Offering these scholarships aims to strengthen networks and relationships among artists across the island, as well as providing a valuable professional development opportunity for the scholarship recipient.
Scholarships generally cover:
Cost of attending the event
Local/National Travel to the event
Per diems for meals and other daily expenses over the course of the event
Planned Scholarships Autumn Winter 2017
Tipperary Dance Platform – call opens 04 August
Light Moves Festival of Screendance – call opens 25 August
Healthier Dancer Days @ DanceHouse – call opens 01 September
Send a short letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org detailing why you are interested in the event, and how this scholarship would make it possible for you to attend.
You must be a current Dance Ireland member to apply. You can check the status of your membership or renew at any time through email@example.com.
Deadlines are generally 3 weeks to 1 month from the date the call opens, with notification of outcome provided approximately 1 week after the deadline.
All planned scholarship open call dates are printed in our programme, however ad-hoc opportunities may arise. For that reason it is best to keep an eye on our social media and e-bulletin to make sure you’re up to date with all opportunities.
What previous scholarship recipients have said:
‘It was great to meet people who are seldom in Dublin and who have their practice in more remote areas in West Cork and Kerry for example. Connections have now been established with some of these and hopefully will strengthen in the future.’
