An opportunity for an artist to access a studio residency with a chosen mentor at a key stage of their career.
This award facilitates access to up to two weeks of studio residency time at DanceHouse for a dance artist with their chosen international mentor. The key aim of the award is for the dance artist to undertake a self-directed programme of research into an aspect of their practice at a key point in their career.
We support applications from across the dance spectrum, including artists working in ballet, contemporary, traditional Irish dance, integrated dance; aerial dance, Hip-Hop, Flamenco; Latin American, Ballroom or hybrid forms.
In 2017 there are two awards available which consist of a studio residency at DanceHouse and a €4000 financial award toward the cost of working with a mentor. The 2017 recipients are:
Emma Cecilia Ajanki (mentor Regina Biermann)
Catherine Young (mentor Nacera Belaza).
